Scarlino
is a small medieval town in the green hills of southern Tuscany, about
10 km away from the long and sandy beaches of Follonica and Punta Ala.
Scarlino is close to the sea, but at the same time away from the vacation
bustle: situated on a height of 270m (900ff) it provides a refreshing
retreat from the heat of the beach-life. The town offers all amenities
of daily life like shops and restaurants and is an ideal base for a
sea-vacation or for excursions to the Maremma and Etruscan Tuscany.
In the neighbourhood there are several touristic harbors and two golf
courses.
